Being exposed to music on a daily basis his whole life fostered an innate passion for music in DJ Kos at an early age and as music styles changed with the times, Kos’s love of music only grew stronger.

Who knew that when Kos started racing BMX bikes in 1982 that a simple nickname after his first bike the "KOS" cruiser would stick with his for the rest of his life? Kos was a winner from the start, going on to become a fifteen-time first, second, and third place winner, gaining him public notoriety.

DJ Kos is no newbie to the game, with over 27 years experience, he began his career back in 1983, while still in High School. His journey into the business started when he formed a successful break dancing crew where he realized he was a natural entertainer. Tired of the K-Tel tapes everyone else was dancing to, DJ Kos decided to buy some 12” records and create his own mixes with his father’s turn table and a cassette deck. He spliced clips from the records together using the pause and record button and DJ Kos was born! After he heard Grandmaster DST and saw Grandmaster Flash on Wild Style he was sold and by 1984 was spinning in a teen club, while still in high school.

In 1987 he purchased a set of Technic 1200 turntables and a Gemini MX 2200 mixer and started practicing his mixing and scratching skills daily.

In 1989 he got sponsored to go to the DMC finals in Chicago. It was there he realized he was able to compete with DJ's from all over the world. Meeting Bad Boy Bill, Muggs (Cypress Hill), DJ Alladin and DJ Miz gave him the motivation and inspiration to strive even harder to turn DJing into a successful career.

In 1991 DJ Kos knew it was time to branch out and leave his home town, never one to wait for things to happen, he put together a videotape that showcased his talents and sent it to Derrick Rahming from Hip Rock Records. This led to DJ Kos relocating to Florida becoming a producer at Hip Rock Records where he also produced 3 of his own songs, KOS-N-Quake, Six One Dog and the City Boys, and Baddest DJ and Wick Wack DJ that later appeared on 2 different CDs on Hip Rock Records in the early 90's. He also had the chance to help with other tracks on such great albums by Afro Rican and Power Supply also released by Hip Rock Records. While in Florida DJ Kos developed a loyal following, spinning in some of the hottest venues in the South Florida.

In 1998 DJ Kos entered the rave scene and continued to spin at various clubs across the nation. Soon everyone wanted to know who this awesome DJ with mad scratching skills, precise mixing and great stage presence was.

Over the past 4 years, DJ Kos has taken his DJing to a whole other level entirely. Introducing video mixing into his show, DJ Kos realized he had more leeway to express himself creatively while pleasing the crowd even more. “Video brings a whole other aspect to my show.” People tend to stay longer, even if they don’t want to dance, they are always amazed by the way DJ Kos seamlessly blends music and video to move the crowd in more ways than one. Self taught, all of DJ Kos’ videos are customized to “dance” to his music. With special effects that emulate the energy of the electro music, and strobing screens, and DJ Kos’ shows create a level of excitement that is contagious. DJ Kos stands apart from all other DJ’s offering an experience like no other.

With rotating residencies at various venues in Birmingham Alabama and at 51 degrees in Savahnah Georgia, plus regular shows at Reno Nevada’s number one hot spot, The Knitting Factory where he recently tore down the house opening for The Crystal Method DJ Kos is a force to be reckoned with!
