A native of the Philippines DJ Showtime and his family moved to San Diego, CA when he was eight. DJ Showtime’s exposure to various cultures and music during his childhood fostered his passion for music and gave him the opportunity to learn to play a number of different instruments. DJ Showtime soon learned how to read music and how to combine different sounds to create a perfect mixture of musical excitement. At the age of 16 DJ Showtime’s friend introduced him to DJ’ing and with his knowledge of music theory and his natural ability to combine the right sounds together, Showtime was immediately a natural at mixing records. As he perfected his craft in DJ’ing DJ Showtime began to DJ at various house parties and just about anywhere else people would allow him hook up his turntables. Soon by DJ Showtime moved from house parties to corporate parties and weddings, which taught him how to cater to crowds of very diverse musical tastes. DJ Showtime soon created a name for himself throughout San Diego’s club scene, and quickly secured his first nightclub gigs.
In 2006 despite a high demand for his DJ’ing services Showtime decided to step back from the nightclub scene. Two years passed and technological advances introduced the art of Video DJ’ing or as it is known VJ’ing, to the night life scene. DJ Showtime soon learned the art of video mixing and returned to the night club scene with a vengeance. At first many venues were skeptical of this new technology, but DJ Showtime persevered . He knew that this technology would be big, so he purchased his own projector to prove to the venues the power of Video DJ’ing. As one of the first DJ’s to mix video live in San Diego, DJ Showtime was back on top in no time, securing himself residencies at some of San Diego’s hottest nightclubs. As nightclub goers became more accustomed to seeing videos accompany their favorite songs DJ Showtime has became one of the highest demanded VJ’s in San Diego.
DJ Showtime’s popularity is growing at a viral pace, as he continues to visually dominate nightclubs across San Diego. Crowds across Southern California are now demanding their favorite nightclub contracts the man who brings the show everywhere he goes.
